TRANSFORMATION & YOUR VISUAL VOICE
CREATING PERSONAL ARCHETYPE CARDS
~ exploring personal messengers and parts of ourselves through collage ~
Archetypes are universal characters that can show up to illustrate various themes that inform how we relate to our world. Representations of these archetypes can come in to view through beliefs, fears, attitudes, and other perceptions that color our lives. There are many that have been identified throughout cultures. Getting to know the archetypes we connect with can help us better understand our motives, strengths, shadows, or where our intentions are coming from. By creating images that we can engage with, outside of the inner space of our minds, we can begin to relate to their messages in ways that enable a more conscious relationship with ourselves. It's a chance for the mind to relax enough for the unconscious to come in to play, giving shape and voice to our inner world, on the outside. Through writing prompts, conversation, and collage, we will shape these archetypal themes. What you create may connect to a universal message, but you will represent your own, personal version. One that reflects your life and your own story.
I am passionate about using collage as a therapeutic tool that allows for forging new relationships with parts of ourselves. I have personally been utilizing a regular collage practice for most of my life, using collage as a mirror to show myself, and share with others, the inner workings of who I am and what influences me. This has included areas of my life that I want to celebrate, heal, or just acknowledge. Sometimes characters come through that represent a need to feel protected, seen, or that surprise me with the role they hold. Through this practice, I have created a large array of my own personal archetype cards that I use as reminders, ways to reflect, and much more.
You do not need to be familiar with which archetypes you personally relate to in order to join this group. Nor do you need to have a firm understanding of what archetypes are in the first place. Through collage and writing practices we'll discover and explore the messengers that highlight different themes in your life. There may be some optional "homework" in the form of readings or writing prompts for the time in between meetings, to keep your process active.
All you need to bring is a curiosity, an open mind, and a willingness to create and be seen. All materials will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own collage images as well.
~ If you are interested in signing up, please reach out so we can schedule a call to discuss your intentions and assess if this group would be a good fit for you. ~

BOOK MAKING & CREATIVE JOURNALING AS INTUITIVE SELF EXPRESSION
Imagine picking up a book- a journal, a scrapbook, a book of recipes- and feeling so comforted by it, so met by its essence that you recognize your own. In this workshop you will learn how to make not just a book, but a portal that invites and inspires you to meet yourself within its pages.
You will construct your book from beginning to end, using classic bookbinding techniques (including the long stitch method), specialty and handmade papers, as well as any extra adornments you might bring from home. We will explore ways in which your book can act as a host for your creative process of truth telling through words, images, and special additions that echo who you are.
Extra personalizing materials to bring from home may include: special coins, stamps, small pieces of art, handwritten letters, envelopes, passports, maps, special papers, hair, stickers, photos, stencils, antique keys, special ribbon or yarn, beads, stones and crystals, favorite quotes, and anything else that strikes your fancy.
Once your book has been created, you will be guided through a number of writing prompts and creative journaling techniques, offered as a way to deepen your relationship with yourself, to step more fully in to your personal process and your life's dreams.
